Artist Statement

My art navigates the fluid relationship between place and memory through mark-making, carved shapes, and documented forms. I use a combination of drawing, painting, and storytelling to create works that invite viewers on a journey through both physical and mental landscapes.

In my oil paintings, I carve into dense layers of paint to reveal forms that surface like fragments from a shifting landscape. In contrast, my textile-inspired drawings use rhythm and pattern to map the intricate stages and types of memory.

Through these works, I invite viewers into a dialogue about how we locate ourselves within shifting geographies of memory—creating spaces that encourage reflection on both individual and collective narratives.
